Blackford County

Blackford County

Blackford County in East Central Indiana, was founded in 1839. Located 7 miles east of Interstate 69, Blackford County is comprised of two primary cities: The county seat is Hartford City and Montpelier. Also in Blackford County is the town of Shamrock Lakes and a portion of the city of Dunkirk. A good amount of the residents of Blackford County live and work in Blackford. A couple of the reasons that they do is that they enjoy the small-town atmosphere and the people. They also enjoy the convenience of easy access to nearby metropolitan areas

While in Blackford County, be sure to check out the city parks, golf courses, Montpelier Motor Speedway, and beautiful country scenery. In October, come and see the excitement of the Mississinewa 1812 Battle Reenactment.
